Promote collective action, strengthen Family Agriculture
CNA (Confederação Nacional da Agricultura) held a workshop on “Promoting Collective Action, Strengthening Family Agriculture” at its headquarters in Coimbra, Portugal, the 23rd January, with the participation of leaders and workers from the Confederation.
It was participatory initiative in which employees from various departments of CNA: BOARD, Finance, Training, Communication, International Relations and Technical Services, had the opportunity to discuss issues such as youth participation on farmers’ organizations, financial sustainability and the capacity to political influence.
The workshop identified attitudes, weaknesses, disincentives and restrictions that limit the development of collective action and networking in the agricultural sector and also the potential that can be exploited.
CNA had the collaboration of the University of Cordoba, partner in BOND, which provided the participatory methodology used in the session.
