Youth Forum – Final Webinar

In this final webinar, on Friday 18th September, representatives from each of the four thematic workshops fed back on their topic to the whole group in some very dynamic and interactive ways, including video presentation and a quiz.

The draft declaration, that had been previously circulated, was read out and further comments were received, before the document was provisionally endorsed by all webinar participants.

The final declaration will be first published on the BOND website and will then be put forward to Horizon 2020, and to the European Commission for Agriculture and Rural Development.

There was a presentation from Nyeleni Europe and Central Asia focusing on Food Sovereignty and what they are doing with and for the youth and a further presentation from the Civil Society and Indigenous Peoples Mechanism for the relation with the Global Committee for Food Security on the Youth Working Group.

FAO presented the BOND Learning Guide for Trainers on ‘Farmer empowerment through the creation of social capital’ so although this is the last Youth Forum event, there are further training opportunities for the development of our young farmers.
