Place-based cooperation among farms is recognized as an effective way to contribute to the agroecological transition. Heterogeneity among farmers can be a significant obstacle to this type of cooperation, however. This article, based on a study of French farm machinery cooperatives (CUMA), examines how farmers interact with heterogeneous peers and find ways to work together despite their differences.   […]
